The perfect pink and brown nursery.

That’s where it all started ladies (and gentlemen)… with pink and brown. Okay, blue and brown too! Waaaaay back in the day, when the color chocolate brown was no where to be found in the nursery – we re-defined the baby room rules, and said good-bye to pastels, and hello to chocolate brown… and introduced a little collection known as “The Classics”. Little did we know that the color combination would consume the entire baby industry.

So here we are, seven years later… and still… the Classic Collection reins as one of our best selling bedding & accessory collections. Apparently it’s working out pretty well for other manufacturers too! Here’s a few of my favorite finds in nursery decor that would coordinate just perfectly with our Classic Collection Crib  and Big Kid Bedding.

Let’s start with the Taylor… plush thick slip-covered bumpers… stripes, polk-dats… three shades of pink and brown perfection. Oh, and a steal at $450 for a 4 piece set.

Pottery Barn Kids has a polka dot rug ($269 for the 5×8 – a perfect size to lay diagonally across the floor).

Or, you can purchase this super-soft shaggy raggy rug at RosenberryRooms.com in a variety of colors!

Wall art? Hmmm… my favs are… “New Song Wall Art” $155 at NurseryCouture.com or “Miss Priss” also available at NurseryCouture.com

Add some “personalization” with a monogrammed lamp shade!

OR! Are you looking for blue & brown bedding? Our Cade Bedding Set, where all the bedding originated – I was actually pregnant with my son, and couldn’t find bedding I liked (imagine that) so designed the Cade set for my son… Cade!

These vintage synonym flashcards describe the little man in the making! $39 each available at RHbabyandchild.com

Every so often we have to “trim the fat” from our ever-growing company and decide to discontinue, or retire a bedding set. Sniff-sniff. The Morgan Bedding was a sweet alternative to the brown trim that was on all the other Modern Vintage Bedding Sets. And although we’ve been sold out for quite some time… I just found out that one of our fabulous Bellini stores (in Atlanta) has ONE LEFT IN STOCK… and it’s ON SALE!

Can’t remember how wonderful this set was… here’s a pic!

Call the store for more info… but hurry… i’m sure it’ll go quick! 404-851-1588

Rumor is, she also has a Open Stock Cade Bedding set (which means she had it on display) and now you get it ON SALE!

My Big Girl Boutique Inspired Room.

I’m back! I’m back from the holiday madness. I’m back from toys EXPLODING all over my house. I’m back (thank god) at work, and it’s 2011! I have such high hopes for this year (and big plans for Caden Lane), I just can’t wait to jump in! Oh, but wait, most importantly…. I’m back BLOGGING again. You missed me, right?

So, to start it off right. I’m FINALLY posting pictures of my daughters Boutique Collection inspired room. Ashlyn will be 3 in February, and although she loves her new room – complete with a stage for her to play on – I’m pretty sure I like it even more. Who would have ever thought that light blue and pink could look so good together. I had a suspicion.. but I’ve got to say, this room is even more fabulous in person!

But, before I post pics… let’s play catch up! Soooo, any day now the very pregnant Samantha Harris is going to POP! And we can’t wait! We go up at the end of January to design her new baby’s nursery. What is she having you ask? Well, it’s a surprise! (For us too.) We’ve picked out everything for her dream boy or girl nursery, and I must say, they are F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S! Whichever she doesn’t have, I will have one complete room designed for anyone that needs a little help! In fact, I promise right now to post both design sheets – so to maybe inspire your own room!

We leave next week for the Atlanta Gift Market - where we will be introducing the brand new Limited Edition additions. They aren’t up on the website yet (we just finished photographing them), but they should be by the end of the week. So keep checking back!

Then at the end of January, we leave for New York for the NYIGF (New York International Gift Fair).

Oh, and in between those two markets- we will be in Los Angeles doing Samantha Harris’ nursery!

Yikes, I’m tired just thinking about everything scheduled for this month!

So, on to the pictures. (taken on my iphone) And who says black and brown don’t mix? I LOVE the black and white zebra mixed in with all the brown! It’s the first thing you look at, right?

Here’s a pic of her “stage” – which is now COVERED in toys! (This pic was taken before Christmas.)

And of course, her storybook princess rug… appropriately stated since she thinks she’s Snow White….

And my VERY FAVORITE wall art in the room is this beautiful canvas hanging! It looks vintage, and the artist custom matched the colors to match our bedding perfectly! It’s on a thick canvas, and hangs from a wood crown molding. Oh – and it has glitter and sparkles on it. Yes, it’s that perfect.

Here’s a picture from the artist’s website:

The canvas is 2′x3′, and $158. If you would like us to order you one, we are more than happy to! Just email us at info@cadenlaneco.com and we can get it to you ASAP. Make sure you order it through us though, b/c you’ll want the colors to match the bedding. (The original is slightly off.)

So, that’s it for now! A quick little blurb with some lovely pictures. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, and I wish all of you a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Here’s to a great 2011 – and hopefully, better blogging from me. :-)
