Easy Mother's Day Breakfast Ideas to get the Kids Involved

Our moms do so much for us, and now it’s her time to get something in return. The best Mother’s Day gifts don’t always have to be the most elaborate or expensive gifts. Sometimes, all mom wants is to sleep in and be treated to breakfast in bed from her favorite people - her kiddos. So get the kids involved and try out one of our favorite easy recipes to start her Mother’s Day off right!


01: Smoothie Bowl


Smoothie bowls are one of the quickest and easiest recipes to make. Have the kids help gather mom’s favorite fruits and blend together with milk. Add the mixture to a bowl and top with fresh fruit, granola, and peanut butter. Delish!


02: Veggie Omelet


For a healthy Mother’s Day breakfast, opt for a veggie omelet. Get the kids involved by having them wash the veggies and whisk the eggs. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and then cook for a few minutes on the stovetop until golden brown. Don’t forget to top with cheese and salsa!


03: Overnight French Toast Casserole


If you want to prepare for your Mother’s Day breakfast the night before, this recipe is perfect! Cover the bottom of a baking dish with bread, then top with a mixture of milk, eggs, vanilla, and cinnamon. Refrigerate overnight, then cook for 30 minutes at 350° in the morning. The kids will have a blast mixing the ingredients and watching their creation turn into a delicious breakfast in the morning!

 

 

04: Breakfast Sandwich


If mom is a savory breakfast lover, a breakfast sandwich is the perfect way to start her morning. Start by frying up some bacon and eggs. Toast a couple pieces of mom’s favorite type of bread and have the kids assemble the sandwich however they like!


05: Buttermilk Pancakes


You just can’t beat this classic breakfast staple. Using pre-made pancake mix from your local grocer, pour the desired amount of pancake mix into a buttered pan and have the kids take turns flipping the pancakes. Top them with fresh fruit and whipped cream before showing them off to mom.
