Dusty Purple Baby Girl's Nursery with Just the Right amount of Dusty Pink

Rowan's Dusty Purple Floral Nursery

Purple has always been a popular color in the little girl's world, but for some reason, it always falls second to the popular pink in nursery design. Let's be real though - purple isn't always the prettiest shade. There's bright purple, plum, maroon, lilac... - and with all of those choices (which by the way, don't always blend together) how are you supposed to narrow it down to just one? It's no secret that it's an intimidating shade to decorate with, but done right - it can be absolutely stunning. We recently took on the challenge, inspired by one of our newest watercolor floral prints, and we think you are going to love this sweet and simple dusty purple nursery.
Sweet Dusty Purple Boho Glam Nursery
If you've clicked through our recent nursery designs, you'll start to see a trend around the term "dusty" - it's a soft and subtle shade, reminiscent of the 90's (think mauve) but combined with some more modern design elements, brass, and simple lines the "dusty" shades have quickly become some of the most popular shades in nursery design.

Design Tip: Just enough purple is just enough! Don't go overboard, let the purple shine with complimentary softer shades. We decided to pair our dusty purple floral print with a blush and white combination. (Did you see those gorgeous blush velvet curtains? Swooooonnnn...)

Don't be afraid to mix styles! I love how the boho style teepee sits right next to a retro-inspired velvet chair. And those boxed floor pillows as an ottoman? So cute! Such a great way to mix in texture and the pillows can easily be dragged into the teepee for reading or play time. Add in the simple lines of a brass floor lamp and you've got yourself the perfect mixture of style and texture.

Can't decide what to put over the crib? Baby's name seems to be a go-to in nursery design, but we wanted to change it up a bit with this easy DIY yarn name. With just a few crafty items, like yarn and a glue gun, you can put together this adorable personalized sign in just a few mins!

Oh my goodness! When it came to shooting this nursery we couldn't resist taking some maternity pictures in one of our matching robes! And they turned out phenomenally! How cute is it to match your nursery!? Not to mention how adorable those first hospital pictures could look displayed in the room. We're so in love!

This nursery came together with just the right amount of purple accents and the perfect touches of blush! We can't get over that gorgeous color combination in our Rowan's Dusty Purple Floral crib bedding. It definitely helped create a perfect color palette for the room. Add in that metallic pop of brass in with the lamp, chair legs, and mirrors over the changing table and you've got yourself a nursery you'll love raising your baby girl in! Take a look around the whole room in the video below:
