Caring For Your Baby Crib Bedding

August 28, 2014

The crib bedding is the central focus of a nursery. It ties the entire room together and sets the tone for the rest of the decor. Thus, it's important to know how to care for your baby crib bedding so your nursery remains sharp, polished, and beautiful. If you are currently on the never ending search for the perfect baby bedding then make sure you are buying one with excellent quality. The problems many run into when purchasing cheap bedding is that it falls apart over the course of a few months, the color fades with multiple washes, and the fabric begins to look worn and dull. I recommend always having a back up crib sheet or two. I promise you will be doing a lot of washing and the sheets will get soiled frequently. With that said, please make sure that when you buy your crib bedding it is machine washable not dry clean or hand wash. For one, its time consuming and as busy and exhausted as your going to be you just won't have the time or energy for those extra steps. Secondly, dry cleaning can become really expensive really fast. Now on to the bumpers. I strongly encourage you to remove the crib bumper inserts before washing. They are not machine washable and it will only ruin the padding. As a result, you will most likely have to purchase new ones. If your baby happens to get the bumpers soiled and it soaks through to the inserts then simply hand wash that area and let it air dry.
