Gray isn’t always boring: Modern Gray Nursery Ideas

June 15, 2015 1 Comment

Gray is becoming more and more popular in nursery design; we think in part due to the fact that it’s a color that can compliment so many hues and transitions well as baby grows older.  Gray doesn’t have to be boring though! If anything, gray can make your other accent colors pop and stand out more than if they were to compete with other brighter colors.  It can also create an environment that is calm and soothing.  It’s completely up to you on how you style it in your own nursery.  But know that gray can take on many different undertones, especially in paint – so be aware of your color choices and pick a gray paint with an undertone that won’t contrast with the rest of your nursery design. Here are some of our favorite gray nurseries from around the web and, of course, some of our bedding sets that would look terrific in any gray inspired nursery:   soft & subtle gray nursery inspiration

When I think gray in the nursery the first thing that comes to mind is a soft and subtle neutral kind of décor, which is absolutely perfect for a gender neutral nursery and can be made modern with just a few touches. Our white and gray mod lattice crib bedding or gray and white arrow baby bedding are great options if this is the look you are drawn to. gray & white baby bedding from Caden Lane

If the soft and subtle kind of nursery isn’t your style you can amp up the look a little with a modern accent wall.  An accent wall is a great way to add interest, and a personal touch, to your nursery. These polka dot, herringbone, and arrow patterns are great ideas.  While all of our bedding sets would look great in front of an accent wall (since the crib is typically the focal point of the nursery) a few of our gray bedding sets would look particularly good in front of one: Gray and Mint Mod baby bedding; Grayson’s Gray baby bedding; and Aqua and Silver Sparkle ruffle baby bedding. And if you like things a little bit bolder you can still achieve that look while grounding the room with gray. Here are three great examples of gray nurseries that are on the bolder side with bright accent colors that play a big part in the room.  Our Bright Baby Gray baby bedding and almost any of or Gray Mod bedding sets with their bright accent colors would be perfect candidates for this bold inspired kind of nursery. bold gray baby bedding from Caden Lane Let us know what your favorite gray nursery ideas are and let us see your own gray nurseries!
