Every once in a while we come across a nursery design idea and fall MADLY in love. The sweet story behind Reyn's Rocky Mountain Retreat is that his parents have special memories of their time spent in the mountains, and wanted to create a space that combined their love for their new baby boy and their favorite place to visit. We had so much fun working with this sweet couple, combining trends like the popular Woodland Nursery Design theme, and the Deer Baby Bedding to add in a whimsical touch.

They wanted to stick with a mint and gray color palette, and incorporate design aspects that could grow with baby Reyn. I love how the mint color accents perfectly pop, without being too much of any one color. And can we just talk about how fabulous those chalk board snow capped mountains are? Adorable!

Gray & Mint Baby Boy Nursery with Floating Furniture

Design tip: Don't be afraid to pull furniture from the wall. I love how the glider is floating in the nursery, leaving a cozy nook to access the books and toy boxes.

A great way to incorporate the Woodland Nursery Design trend is with animals and themed rugs and decor. The tribal rug, deer changing pad cover, and ahhhh-mazing gold and mint faux taxidermy deer head all add a little bit of that woodland theme.

You don't have perfect handwriting? No worries! These vinyl stickers perfectly state our favorite saying "Let him sleep, for when he wakes he will move MOUNTAINS." That popular saying was meant for this nursery!

Our popular Deer Baby Bedding set pulls all the woodland decor together, with gold piping, and that gorgeous Deer Baby Quilt - all by Caden Lane!

This room has the coolest little sun room attached to it, perfect for a play area as baby Reyn grows, and the peek-a-boo teepee with our tribal fabric from our Arrow Baby Bedding collection will be one of his favorite places to hang out in the years to come.

Hi Kendra, I’m so sorry, but the manufacturer has changed the color and we no longer carry it as an option. One suggestion would be to purchase the white deer head and spray paint it the color of your liking, which should be pretty easy to do as the antlers do detach. :)

I have been trying to find the mint and gold deer head but it doesn’t seem to be available on your site anymore. Will you be getting that color back in sometime soon?

Hi Justine – The mommy of this nursery actually made the banner herself using a heat transfer she found on Etsy, but the Etsy Shop BannersAndBeyond offers a very similar style.

Hi Stephanie & Samantha – The mountains were hand painted using painter’s tape and a black & white paint. You could easily use chalkboard paint for the base of the mountains – but regular interior paint is what was used here, although I don’t have the exact color. And the vinyl wall decal was a purchase made on Etsy. :)

Hi Sarah & Lise, the crib was a hand-me-down and unfortunately we’re not sure of the brand or where it is from but we do recommend Bratt Decor. They’re a great brand with great cribs!
