The first day of summer is still technically a week away, but we’re already feeling the heat here in South Texas. If you’re pregnant, depending on how far along you are, you may not be looking forward to hotter, longer days like you normally would this time of year. That extra weight and hormones from your precious bundle of joy may be making it difficult to find ways to enjoy the hot outdoors, but not to worry because we’ve got you covered with some of our favorite summer pregnancy tips and tricks to fully enjoy summer outdoors with a baby bump!

Hit the water!
Lounge by the pool (or rather in the pool), take a dip in the lake, or float down the river (bring along one of those mocktails!). Water helps reduce your body temperature and can also even help relieve some of your aches and pains by relieving pressure on your back. Plus, who can resist showing off the cute bump in a fun swim suit?

Try to lay off the salt (a little).
Salt can lead to swelling and heat can lead to swelling, together it’s a recipe for disaster. Reducing one might provide some relief, and no one is going to stay indoors ALL summer long!
Carry a spray bottle or mister around with you.
As we mentioned above, the heat's not going anywhere, so this is just another tactic to help keep you cool and a little bit more comfortable. Plus it will remind you a little bit of those misting fans you thought were so cool when you were younger and you can pretend to be the cool kid again. We like this one from Target:
It's hot, you're sweaty, you deserve get a little something for yourself to help lift your spirits. Get a cute new swimsuit that shows off your bump perfectly, splurge on some maternity shorts that you'll only ever wear this one season, or get a pedicure with your girlfriends. Heck do all three if it makes you feel better!
Summer can still be the fun season you know it to be when you're pregnant. We hope you use some of these summer pregnancy tips to make this one of your best summers yet!
