Okay, today we're doing something special and featuring one of our very talented customers! We LOVE it when you share your nurseries with us, they're all so amazing. It's so fun to see all the neat things you guys come up with and a lot of time you all help to inspire us! This is one of those inspiring nurseries and we just couldn't keep it to ourselves.
Momma, Katie, created the most adorable pink gingham baby girl nursery with just the right amount of sweet and sophistication. It's light and airy and all the right things. So we had to reach out get the scoop behind her pink and gray nursery design that features our Maggie's Pink & White Buffalo Check Crib Bedding.
Can you tell us what inspired your nursery design?
When choosing her nursery design I wanted it to be timeless, fresh and feminine. Making it beautiful but also practical. This is the room where she will grow from baby to little lady and I wanted it to reflect that in a way.
What is your favorite part of your nursery design?
I love the feel of the room. It's refreshing when you walk in. The glider I chose is definitely a favorite as its uber comfy and also reclines. It can be hard to find a stylish 2-in-1 rocker.
What was your splurge item? And your best budget-friendly find?
The accent walls were my splurge. I chose pink gingham removable wallpaper from Spoonflower. I chose removable so that there will be no damage to the wall when or if we need to remove it. All it needs is a little water and sponge! The shiplap wall I kept simple with a coat of white paint allowing her name plaque to stand out. Lastly, the white curtains were a great deal! They look like Dupioni silk but we're a fifth of the price.
If you could change one thing in the nursery, what would it be?
The thing I plan to add is plantation shutters to both windows. The nursery gets the morning and afternoon sun making it hard for naptime. Plantation shutters are a beautiful way to tone down the light for better sleeping which in return makes for happy a baby & Mama!
Anything extra special about your nursery that our readers would love to hear about?
I love using items in more than one way. For example, the roses on her dresser are there to add a pop of color but I also use them to capture Everly's monthly watch me grow pictures. I shape the flowers into the month number and simply place them back in the vase when I'm finished until the next month.
What's your number #1 advice for new mommies starting their nursery?
I try to tell my clients to buy what you absolutely love and not worry about making it look 'perfect'. It all comes together beautifully in the end and means more to you when spending time in that area. If you purchase items that don't really mean anything to you then the room won't feel inviting or special and you're likely to not spend as much time in it. Shop around at different stores instead of buying everything all at once. Buy items that speak to you and overall just have fun!!
We love that advice! And can't wait to share more amazing nurseries with you, be it ones that we design or featuring more of our customers! Don't forget to send inyour pictures or tag us on Instagram!
