Bubble Wrap Art Project Perfect for Summer!

Bubble Wrap Art Project Perfect for Summer!

Who doesn’t love popping bubble wrap? Whether it’s by hand or foot, the sound is too good to pass up.

This craft can be for all ages (including you, parents!). There are a few different ways you can make your bubble wrap art, and today we decided that stomping on it was going to be the most fun.

Overall this craft cost $3 since I already had most of the supplies on hand. I bought two small rolls of bubble wrap for $1.50 each. What I love about this is that it is easy, very inexpensive and so fun!

Supplies:

  • Paint colors of choice
  • Paper or cardstock
  • A cardboard box to keep the mess contained
  • Bubble wrap

  • Start by laying out your supplies and deciding how you’ll want to use your bubble wrap. There are different ways to do this - taping a piece of bubble wrap over the paper after you’ve put paint on it and having your little one jump and stomp on it, or having them use their hands and press into it, allowing them to move the paint around. There’s plenty of variety with this activity for texture sensitive babies!

  • Once you’ve decided how you want to go about the craft, place your paper on the box and add dots of paint all over.

  • Tape the bubble wrap edges down (something we forgot to do which resulted in messy feet!).

  • Now here is the fun part! Jump, stomp and walk across the bubble wrap and watch the cool patterns come through.

Some fun prompts to add to this activity include: picking animals to walk like as they go across the bubble wrap, use those numbers and count how many times to jump on it, or practice standing on one foot! Jump in with them and have fun! Even the smallest craft like this can make the best (and sometimes messiest) memories!
